Composition: Goldstone is a man-made stone, a type of glittering glass made in a low-oxygen, reducing atmosphere. Its contains minute particles of copper or other metal oxides, such as manganese or cobalt. These inclusions give the glass its characteristic shimmering appearance. Specifically, copper oxide is reduced to metallic copper during the glass-making process, creating the gold-coloured sparkle.
